Tools of Science
Tools of Science is a comprehensive research information system commissioned by Stockholm Science City. Tools of Science aims to improve the use of the core facilities, equipment and resources in the Stockholm region and to promote the establishment of joint research projects. The system provides access to the core facilities and the related skills at the research organisations Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Stockholm University.
Life Science Competences in Europe
The LifeCompetence research information system has been developed in collaboration with the Karolinska Institutet and EuropaBio. It offers various options for accessing research projects funded within the European Commission’s sixth Framework Programme for research and technical development. Leading scientists in the area of life sciences and health are identified in the system. LifeCompetence aims to support the marketing and positioning of the European life sciences. At the same time, it offers new and comprehensive analysis options to the European Commission and European universities. The results are used to identify strengths and weaknesses and demonstrate an organisation’s development in different research areas.
Sweden ScienceNet
Within Sweden ScienceNet (SSN), AVEDAS analyses and optimises information processes at the Swedish universities in Uppsala, Lund, Stockholm, as well as the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Karolinska Institutet and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). In SSN, these information processes are consolidated and implemented in a national system to manage research information. The software platform CONVERIS allows the integration and seamless alignment of different information sources, e.g. staff databases, project data and publication data.
KTH Research Database
AVEDAS has developed a research information system for the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The system manages project information throughout the entire life cycle of a project - from proposal to completion. The system also allows cross linking, structuring and analysis of all projects. The research database connects different internal databases thus enabling KTH to demonstrate its research skills, analyse project results and support strategic planning.
Karolinska Institutet Infection Network
The KI Infection Network aims to promote research collaborations between the members of the network. The main focus is on interdisciplinary collaboration between the different research fields that deal with infectious diseases. In addition to facilitating internal collaborations, the network also strives to present the work and the results of the infection biology team at the Karolinska Institutet to the public to gain recognition at national and international level.
RUBICON Network
The RUBICON network of excellence brings together more then 100 researchers from approximately 20 leading research organisations across Europe. CONVERIS improves the transparency of the skills available in the network, thus enabling RUBICON to position and market its research activities. In order to support emerging collaborations within the network, CONVERIS has been equipped with an internal communication platform.
BioCompetence
AVEDAS advises a selection of leading European universities and clusters in integrating data from different information sources and supports them in implementing efficient information processes. The objective is to develop and implement a coordinated, interregional marketing approach as well as to establish a joint marketing system for their strongest research areas.
Center for Science & Research Management (ZWM), Speyer (ZWM)
The implementation of the Digital Knowledge Base (DKB) has established a tool for structured information exchange within the community of knowledge managers and other people interested in this field. The DKB is a central contact point that provides easy access to explicit and implicit knowledge as well as to the often unstructured content in the field of knowledge management. It enables the exchange of experiences and supports the community of experts as a virtual communication and knowledge platform. In addition to the systematic management of skills and expertise, the DKB promotes contacts with experts, further developing individual networks.
ScanBalt
AVEDAS has developed a competence scorecard to support strategic decisions for ScanBalt. Europe’s first meta bioregion, ScanBalt contains 13 life-science clusters in the Baltic Sea area. The long-term competitiveness of a region is strengthened by optimising intellectual capital and establishing efficient thematic networks. ScanBalt aims to develop a globally competitive meta-bioregion.
