CONVERIS principle is to reuse existing information to the highest possible extent in order to reduce manual workload for researchers and administrators and to ensure high data quality.
For publications management and bibliometrics, CONVERIS combines different possibilities to collect and validate the necessary data:
Customisable and automated validation workflows
CONVERIS supports the quality-proven registration and validation of publication data by automated processes such as
Reports on all organisational levels
As soon as the publication data has been registered and validated in CONVERIS, the users can analyse and utilise it for versatile purposes.
CONVERIS provides multifaceted reporting possibilities on the publications and their scientific impact in terms of citations and other bibliometric indicators. The reports can be produced for individual researchers, organisation units or for the entire organisation. They can also be restricted to certain publication types, time periods, research areas, journals or co-author organisations.
Beyond these analyses, the users can with CONVERIS reuse their publication and citation data for many other purposes, such as web sites, annual reports, CVs or research assessment exercises like the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in the UK.
- From external sources and repositories, such as Web of Science, PubMed or Scopus.
- From files in formats like EndNote, RefMan, BibTex oder RefWorks.
- Manually entered by the users. The registration process takes different publication types into consideration and is CERIF compliant, but can easily be adapted to other standards or the organisation’s specific requirements.
Customisable and automated validation workflows
CONVERIS supports the quality-proven registration and validation of publication data by automated processes such as
- Avoiding duplicate entries
- Completing the publication information with full texts, DOIs and relations to organisation units, thematic areas, further authors or journals
- Automated and customisable validation workflows which are facilitated through integration with Sherpa / RoMEO’s information on the journal’s policy and conditions for pre- and post-print archiving
