CONVERIS collects various research information types and offers multifaceted options to validate and utilise them.
In CONVERIS My Pages, the users can access and edit their own research information as well as with the help of different tools enhance and improve their scientific profile.
CONVERIS Public Web enables research organisations to present their research activities and results over the Internet.

CONVERIS enables researchers, administrators and managers at universities and research organisations to manage any type of research information and continuously monitor their research activities and results.
Taking all types of research information into consideration
Contracts, publications and patents are the most common examples. In order to allow for more complete analyses and presentations of the organisation’s research activities and results, CONVERIS relates this information to the organisation’s research areas, organisation units and the researchers themselves.
Sometimes, additional research information is included as well, such as technology offers, study plans, courses, core facilities and several other information types. CONVERIS´ flexible architecture literally means that any type of information can be included in the Research Information System.
CONVERIS is completely CERIF compliant, but can be easily configured to take further internal, national or international requirements into consideration.
Integration in the IT infrastructure
CONVERIS fundamental principle is to reuse existing information to the highest possible extent. CONVERIS has therefore been built to easily integrate data from both internal systems and external databases. Internally, connections are often made to login servers and HR or finance systems to keep key information on persons, organisations and other entities continuously up-to-date. To further reduce the workload on administrators and researchers for manually registering information, CONVERIS can also provide data on publications, e.g. from Web of Science or from PubMed and contract information from the European Commission and other funding bodies.
As not all information can be found in existing systems, CONVERIS enables all users to comfortably add, validate and complete their research information in their My Pages.
Workflow and process support
Each research organisation has many different processes and workflows involving different persons, each with different roles and functions. CONVERIS has been built to support the information flow both within and across these processes. This means that CONVERIS can support for example the whole process of contract management, from the elaboration of a proposal, through the phases of submission, negotiation and contract signing to continuous monitoring of ongoing and ended projects. Other examples on supported processes include publication management, study plan handling or annual reporting.
Versatilie possibilities for utilisation
Once the research information has been collected and validated, it can be utilised in many different contexts. Research performance exercises like the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in the UK, annual reports, CVs, network analyses or websites are the most common examples.
