MidSweden University
With CONVERIS, MidSweden University can centrally manage and evaluate all information on its research activities and results.
MidSweden University (MIUN) is Sweden’s youngest university, but with the fastest growing research activity. In December 2008, it has launched a new research information system based on CONVERIS. Researchers, graduate students and administrators at MIUN can now manage information on all their research activities and results, including projects, contracts, patents, publications, conferences, merits, study plans and courses in a single system.
CONVERIS has been connected to in total nine internal and external systems to achieve a maximum reuse and quality assurance of existing information and thereby minimize the workload for researchers and administrators. This includes among others connections to the staff database, finance system and a login server as well as Thomson ISI for citations, a national system for course information and another for publication data.
To maximise the value of the information, CONVERIS also offers multiple possibilities to use the information, ranging from customised exports, to CV generation and making the researchers’ competence profiles available over the web. One of the most important use cases for the university is however to produce information for the annual report.
Through CONVERIS, all information needed for the annual report gets validated and quality assured in structured workflows and approval processes.
